I just made my 4th stop in Holbrook looking for meteorites. The first three were quick in and outs with a total of 15 hours looking. This time I decided to spend a whole day. I left Flagstaff at 4:20 am and was at the strewn field by 6:00 am. Weather was great until about 8:30 when the sun found it's way out from behind the clouds. After that I got fried. After another 5 1/2 hours at 11:35am 22 July 2001 I finally found my first Holbrook meteorite. It weighs in at a whopping 2.16 grams, about 1 gram for every 10 hours I had spend looking for it. It is a lovely piece with crust as fresh as any recent fall.
2.16 Grams and about 80-85% fresh crust
